ReciMe alternatives: free and paid apps compared

ReciMe's free plan stops at about five imports a week. Seven free and paid alternatives for saving TikTok, Instagram and website recipes.

People usually start looking for a ReciMe alternative for one of three reasons. The free plan caps imports at about five a week. The measurement converter and the step-by-step cooking mode sit behind ReciMe Plus, which is $39.99 a year in the US. Or they want something ReciMe doesn't do, like a one-time price, a shared shopping list that holds up at the shop, or an app that tells them what they can cook tonight.

Below are seven alternatives, grouped by which of those problems they solve. We make one of them, so weigh the positioning accordingly. Prices were checked in October 2026 on each app's own site or store listing.

What ReciMe does well

ReciMe saves recipes from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube, plus screenshots and photos of handwritten cards. It runs on iPhone and Android, in a browser and as a Chrome extension. Grocery lists and meal planning are on the free tier, and there is an "Ask ReciMe" assistant. If five imports a week covers you, the free plan is a good deal.

If you want more free imports

Sugo is ours. It imports from links, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, screenshots and photos of book pages, like ReciMe. Its free plan counts by the month (25 link imports and 5 photo or video imports) and includes cook mode with voice and the pantry. Sugo+ ($59.99 a year) and Famiglia ($79.99 a year) have no import limit. It also tracks your pantry and ranks saved recipes by what you can cook right now, which ReciMe leaves to an ingredient filter.

Samsung Food has a free tier and Samsung Food+ at $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year on the App Store. It mixes saving your own recipes with browsing its catalogue.

If you want to pay once

Paprika costs $4.99 on a phone and $29.99 on Mac or Windows, once per platform. Its built-in browser is the fastest way to save from recipe websites. It does not read video today; social import is part of the Paprika 4 beta, which will put new features behind a subscription.

Recipe Keeper is free to try with a $19.99 one-time Pro upgrade on the App Store. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac, scans photos and PDFs, and can add recipes it finds on popular websites, Instagram and TikTok.

Crouton is free for 20 recipes, then $24.99 once. It is Apple only, keeps your library in your own iCloud, and its hands-free mode lets you wink to move between steps. AI photo and PDF import is a separate $14.99-a-year subscription.

If you want planning and a shared list

AnyList has the best shared shopping list in the category, free, with recipe import and meal planning in AnyList Complete at $9.99 a year ($14.99 for a household).

Plan to Eat is $5.95 a month or $49 a year, with a 14-day trial and no free plan. It clips recipes from websites, Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest and turns a meal plan into a grocery list sorted by store and aisle.

Moving your recipes out of ReciMe

Sugo imports a ReciMe library directly, with ingredients, steps, servings and notes kept as structured data. We did not find a ReciMe import in the other apps, which would leave you re-saving recipes one link at a time.

Questions people ask

Is there a free alternative to ReciMe?

Yes. Sugo's free plan includes cook mode, the pantry and a meal plan, with monthly import limits (25 links and 5 photos or videos a month), and Samsung Food and Recipe Keeper both have free tiers. AnyList's shopping list is free, but recipe import needs AnyList Complete.

How much is ReciMe Plus?

ReciMe Plus is $39.99 a year in the US, and the App Store lists other prices for some regions and plans. It lifts the five-a-week import cap and unlocks the converter, nutrition, export and step-by-step cooking.

Which ReciMe alternative is cheapest?

Over a few years, a one-time purchase: Recipe Keeper's $19.99 Pro upgrade or Paprika at $4.99 on a phone. Of the subscriptions, AnyList Complete at $9.99 a year is the cheapest, though it is mainly a shopping list.

There are direct comparisons of Sugo and ReciMe, ReciMe and Paprika and ReciMe and AnyList, and the five-app comparison goes feature by feature.
